let's make garlic bread!

i love garlic bread, and this recipe is just the best i've ever made and tasted! the flavor, and the softness of the bread are just perfect for my taste. i forgot where i got this recipe, but fortunately i copied it on my notebook, so i can share it with you.

what you'll need:

1 baguette

5 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons parsley (dried)

200 grams butter (i always have a big block of butter, so i just estimate how much is 200g, it doesn't have to be accurate)

salt and pepper

foil, cut wide enough to wrap around your baguette

Preheat oven for 15 minutes at 175 degrees, or gas mark 3.5

Make your garlic butter. Because my butter was a solid block, i placed it in a saucepan over the lowest heat to melt, added my garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. do not fry, the small fire is only to melt the butter. you may cut it into small chunks so it melts very quickly.

slice the baguette diagonally, without cutting through the bread.

with a soup ladle, add the garlic butter in between the slices and on top of the bread.

wrap in foil, seal ends well.

bake for 10 minutes, turn it over, and cook for 10 minutes more.

remove from oven, be careful not to burn your fingers. guilty one here.

cut bread slices all the way through and serve. with spaghetti, or soup or whatever.

enjoy. really yummy. highly recommended. i give it my two thumbs up!

when i made this, i had enough garlic butter for two baguettes, so i baked both at the same time. one baguette was enough for me and kj, so without unwrapping the other one from the foil, i stuck it on my freezer after it has totally cooled off. the next week, i heated it up in the oven again, 10 minutes on each side, and served with dinner.
